Batman: The Killing Joke was directed by Sam Liu and based upon the graphic novel of the same name by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland. The film was produced by DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation and published by Warner Bros. Pictures.

While it might be known as one of the more important stories in the rich history of the character, Batman: The Killing Joke can be a dicey topic for some fans. While it does give us a closer look at one of the more important villains in the past 100 years of fiction, it also shows just how little an other character can appear and still be used as a plot device.

So when the story was adapted into a DC Animated Film, the team wanted to add some more to the short story and make Batgirl have more narrative weight. But maybe they didn’t go about it the right way… Continue reading

Like many comic book fans, Batman has a special place in my heart. Growing up watching the 60s television series and the animated series based upon the tonally different Tim Burton films, showed the diversity in the character as his interpretation changed with the time.

So let’s take a look at his newest incarnation in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

We’ve seen enough comic book movies that it seems we need to get meta…like Mel Brooks levels of meta. And here to do that is the man in red, the merc with the mouth, the not Green Lantern himself, Deadpool. But is his first solo film any good?

Suicide Squad: Feels good to be bad

I think by now it’s clear that I love DC Comics, even though they make it very hard for me to keep going back to them. While the trailers around Batman V. Superman have been discussed and examined ahead of it’s upcoming March release, the trailer for the film I’m most looking forward to has hit the net.

Along with Derek, I also played Batman: Arkham Knight and for the most part I really enjoyed it. Loved the new additions to the game, it looks fantastic, and it’s written very well. But one particular story beat that frustrated many people came during the later part of the game, when it was finally revealed who the Arkham Knight was. I’m gonna assume that you have played the game to the end and know who the Arkham Knight is. (Spoilers) Continue reading

Three DC Finales, and One gets it right

DC Entertainment is a Division of Time Warner.

Its been a busy year for DC Comics, with four TV series going on around the same time. And while Constantine failed to attract a large enough audience, the three main shows; Gotham, Arrow and the Flash all ended up reacting their target numbers and getting another season order. That being said after 20 plus episodes each, only the Flash ended up getting it’s ending right. Let’s talk about that.
